Waddington Community Orchard Project

20th of October, 2023

Waddington Parish Councils application to the Lancashire Environment Fund has been successful.  The grant offered is a contribution towards the estimated total project value of £14,765.  LEF has awarded £11,000 towards the cost of the project.  Waddington Duck Race organisers have kindly donated £1200 and additional funds are being raised or applied for.

This funding will allow repairs to the path through the Coronation Gardens, installation of a new memorial bench, wildlife boxes, and the creation of a sensory garden.  The project will also include planting 102m of mixed specie’s hedgerow at the village playing fields.

Waddington’s Parish Councillors are keen to get more volunteers to help on Mondays in the Coronation Gardens and if anyone would like to volunteer in the garden and help with the  Community Hedge planting day that is planned to take place in December please contact the Parish Clerk [email protected]
