January 2023 Update:

31st of March, 2023

On Tuesday 23rd January 2023 United Utilities invited the local Ward Councillor and the Waddington Parish Council Chair to a virtual presentation about their revised traffic management proposals for the centre of Waddington Village during HARP. This was not a consultation as these proposals have not yet been submitted to the relevant authorities and may change.

The presentation included the following: –

Traffic management measure changes

  1. Village square scheme to influence speeds at the junction of West Bradford Road and Slaidburn Road (cushions proposed at the junction of West Bradford Road and Slaidburn Road)
  2. Gateways to village with speed restriction (20mph)
  3. Highway widening on West Bradford Road
  4. Replacement of posts in verge outside the Alms Houses possibly with reflective posts (the proposed footpath/walkway has been dropped)

Traffic management measures unchanged

  1. Restriction on times HGV’s can travel
  2. Road repair and maintenance
  3. Provision of Marshalls to manage larger HGV’s/busy periods
  4. Driver training
  5. A highways stakeholder group
  6. Travel plans

Once the final proposals have been submitted an update will appear on their virtual exhibition site at www.harpconsultation.co.uk. You will then be able to comment/respond directly to these revised proposals.

We will continue to update and publish the latest information on this dedicated webpage. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch with us via the Contact page.

The applications remain in consultation phase and are likely to do so for some months to come. Responses from members of the public continue to be received and published to the dedicated RVBC HARP planning website, as do responses from statutory consultees.
