United Utilities submitted their planning applications in relation to the Haweswater Aqueduct Resilience Programme (HARP) to Ribble Valley Borough Council Planning Department. The two applications have been validated and RVBC have published the relevant documents on their website dedicated to HARP.

The application contains detail of the largest construction and highways project to affect the area in decades and will have a huge impact on all local residents. We encourage you to read the documents in the applications and get in touch with one of our seven councillors – or contact us via the contact page of this website.

The position taken by Waddington Parish Council will be published in the HARP section of this website in due course but it is important that you also make your own views known to the planning authorities, restricting your comments to material planning considerations, as representations made by your parish council carry no additional weight in planning law than your own.

This document outlines the role of parish councils in the planning process and gives some examples of material planning considerations.

The two RVBC planning applications can be found via these links and are numbered 03/2021/0660 and 03/2021/0661
